'Tea Arts 茶藝' is a cozy event that invites you into the world of tea culture!

Join us—artists, philosophers, and musicians—as we bring a unique tea experience to life.


Tea ceramics, tea dyeing, Taiwanese tea, oriental music and live painting.

The event takes place in a historic, welcoming atelier at a Kunsthof (Studios ID) in Lichtenberg.

Textile artist working on the theme of nature and humans.
She will hold a workshop to experience dyeing tea-cloth (茶布) with tea leaves after drinking, using a Japanese natural dyeing technique that produces rich, dark colors, and exhibit her natural dye works.

Sinologist, philosopher, musician who developed a taste for tea during the 25 years he lived in Taiwan.

Various teas of the famous Lishan 梨山 region in Central Taiwan will be served, all grown by the same tea farmer.

Some white tea from Northern Taiwan and aged “Oriental Beauty 東方美人” black tea from Hsinchu 新竹 will round up an afternoon filled with fragrance and subtle taste.

-Genmyo 玄明-

Genmyo 玄明 Genmyo is a trio consisting of Wolfgang Schwabe (qin), Shiomi Kawaguchi (shamisen), Yurika Saito (live painting).
It takes its inspiration from tea gatherings. Our goal is to create new art, free from stereotypes, using the qin, the shamisen and the brush as our instruments.
