In a two-hour process, you can experience natural dyeing technique of dyeing tote bag with everyday items such as onion skins, turmeric.
This time, you can choose from two colors: red onion PINK and turmeric YELLOW
(red onion skins from Love Burger 100% vegan)

1. make colored water with red onion skin/turmeric
2. easily clean cloth with detergent
3. tie the fabric with rubber bands or string to create patterns on the fabric
4. boil the fabric in colored water
5. take the fabric, untie the strings, bands and open the fabric to see the magic
6. rinse it lightly with water, wring it out, take it home, hang it to dry, and it's done!
What will we do?
Natural dye "Kusaki-zome草木染め"
is a Japanese dyeing method in which natural and everyday materials such as flowers, herbs, vegetable peels, coffee grounds, tea leafs are used to dye fabrics.
In this workshop you will dye cotton tote bag.
You can take the dyed bag home with you and use them for yourself or as a gift.
You can experience the Kusaki-zome with textile artist Yurika Saito.
Yurika Saito is a visual and textile artist who works with nature and dyes with everyday objects.

Cotton tote bug 38x42 cm
What color will you dye?
Red onion skins collected in the restaurant or Turmeric
You can choose between two colors: PINK and YELLOW.
Language?
Basically English, but EN/DE process sheet are available
What do you need?
Please bring a prastic bag for your wet fabric.
In some cases, colored water may splash on clothes and cause pigmentation, please wear clothes that can get dirty or are dark in color.
You can take new onion skins to home if you want, please bring a bag to take them.
For children?
From 6 years are welcome (only with supervision).

Naturfarben ”Kusaki-zome草木染め"
ist eine japanische Färbemethode, bei der natürliche und alltägliche Materialien wie Blumen, Harb, Gemüseschalen, Kaffee, Tee zum Färben von Stoffen verwendet werden.
In diesem Workshop können Sie eine baumwolle Tote Bag färben.
Nehmen Sie den gefärbten Stoff mit nach Hause und für sich selbst oder als Geschenk verwenden.
Mit der Textilkünstlerin Yurika Saito können Sie das Kusaki-zome erleben.
Yurika Saito ist eine visuelle und textile Künstlerin, die mit der Natur arbeitet und mit Alltagsgegenständen färbt.

Womit färben?
Rote Zwiebelschalen, die im Restaurant gesammelt werden
oder Kurkuma
Sie können zwischen zwei Farben wählen: ROSA und GELB.
Sprachen?
Hauptsächlich Englisch gesprochen, aber Prozessdiagramme sind auf EN/DE möglich.
Was braucht man?
Bitte eine Tüte für den nassen Stoffen mitbringen.
In einigen Fällen kann gefärbtes Wasser auf die Kleidung spritzen und Pigmentierungen verursachen. Bitte tragen Sie Kleidung, die schmutzig werden kann oder eine dunkle Farbe hat.
Können Sie neue Zwiebelschalen mitnehmen wenn Sie möchten, bitte bringen Sie eine Tüte mit, um sie mitzunehmen.
Für Kinder?
Ab 6 Jahren sind willkommen (nur mit Beaufsichtigung).
